Summer Spotlight: Keep An Eye Out For These Signs Of Dehydration

Posted on August 18, 2021

Hello summer, goodbye dehydration! It’s summertime and that means more time enjoying the outdoors. Sounds fun, right? It is, unless you let dehydration sneak up without even realizing it’s happening! Cirkul is here to make sure that doesn’t happen. When your body is losing more fluid than it’s taking in, dehydration can occur quickly.  While it’s important to stay hydrated year round, during the warm summer months dehydration can occur quickly so it’s important to know the warning signs, especially for young children and older adults who may be at higher risk.

Water in-take is especially important when you are active and that’s where Cirkul comes in. Drinking water with Cirkul is easy and delicious! With 35+ yummy flavors getting your family and  yourself to drink water is fun and exciting. Even if you’re constantly sipping on your favorite Cirkul flavor, it’s best to know and be on the lookout for the signs of dehydration so you know when more water is needed.

In Infants/Young Children:

  • Dry mouth & tongue
  • Crying without tears
  • No wet diaper for three hours
  • Sunken eyes & cheeks
  • Listlessness or irritability

In Adults:

  • Extreme thirst
  • Less frequent urination
  • Dark-colored urine
  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Confusion

Keeping your Cirkul with you is an easy reminder to drink water, even when you don’t feel thirsty. If you are in warmer weather conditions or experiencing sickness, it’s crucial to increase your intake of fluids since your body will need more water to carry out its normal functions. If you are exercising, water intake needs to be increased to replace the water lost through perspiration.

While mild to moderate dehydration can be reversed by drinking more water, severe dehydration will need medical treatment. Avoid getting to that state by being conscious of the signs listed above and staying stocked with your favorite Sips!
